Stephan Oppenheimer is the Managing Partner of Pontalba Capital. With over 20 years of private equity experience, he has a track record of success and consistency in partnering with management teams to grow their businesses. Prior to founding Pontalba, Mr. Oppenheimer was a Partner with Moelis Capital Partners, where he focused on middle market buyouts and growth equity investments and oversaw the business services and media & telecom practices. Prior to joining Moelis Capital, he spent ten years with CCMP Capital (fka JPMorgan Partners) in New York and London, where he led investments in the U.S. and internationally. He currently serves on the board or advisory board of University Properties and Hive Brands, and has served on the boards or been significantly involved in numerous companies including AMC Entertainment, Grupo Corporativo Ono, MidCap Financial, Kraton Polymers, Lightship Telecom, Tripoint Communications, and others. He is proficient in French, and has lived and worked in New York, Paris and London, and participated in over 30 private equity investments, including in the U.S., Spain, Romania, the Czech Republic, Germany, Chile and others.
Mr. Oppenheimer serves on the board of ParentChild+, an early childhood literacy program, is an advisor to FemHealth Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on women's health, has been an advisor to two separate healthcare initiatives focused on Ghana and Burkina Faso in western Africa, and has been on the boards of or involved in several other non-profit organizations including Youth I.N.C. and City Harvest. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from The Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.
